A simple system for you to duplicate and turn your morning into the most productive part of your day.


Meditation — your state of mind is the starting point. Listen to a mediation app like Calm or podcast like The Morning Mindset to get your mind aligned with the way you want your day to go.

Exercise — after mind is body. Get it moving. I have suffered chronic injuries and have 3 kids to keep up with along with a business to run and blog to write. Believe me when I say that your body betraying you is the fastest way to not getting shit done.

Read — now let’s work on your continuing education. Read a book, blog or Bible to keep your mind sharp. This blog post counts, so if you’re reading this and want to go ahead and start the M.E.R.I.T. System, then you are already ahead of the game.

Ideas — this one is fun and can be challenging. Write down 10 ideas. Any ideas. When you get into the practice it will get easier. At first you may have trouble coming up with a single idea, but if you give yourself the space to cut loose and have fun, this will make a tremendous difference in your life.

Tasks — not to-dos. Tasks are a better way to manage all of your daily activities. You can assign them timelines and get really detailed, or keep it as a simple list. Prioritize and conquer. Take control of what you do during the day, instead of letting your days just happen to you.
